However at the same time the players need to be shown a modicum of respect and consulted before their services are volunteered for a tour that is not even on the FTP schedule. Especially as these guys stand to lose a lot of money as a result of this. As cricketers their earning power is limited to a short life span and I dont blame them for trying to maximise this potential so they can offer their families a very comfortable life. Ranatunga's HR skills haven't been too great. He has an uneasy relationship with the players And the players have not been paid consistently.
